Golf holidays in Morocco

Golf holidays in Morocco

Morocco is a fantastic golf holiday destination for your golf travels with a wide range of excellent golf courses and accommodation choices, as well as a captivating culture. With two key cities and several prolific golf courses in its arsenal, it comes as no surprise that a golf break in Morocco is becoming ever popular. Morocco is now a serious competitor to the likes of those favouring a golf tour in Spain, Portugal and Turkey, and is quickly establishing itself as an excellent luxury golf holiday destination.

Submerged in history and culture combined with a warm year-round climate, it is becoming increasingly easy to see the great appeal in a Moroccan golf holiday. There is so much to do in Morocco that it would be a shame just to play golf. Visitors here have the choice of exploring some key historical sites, and experiencing true Moroccan cuisine.

Glorious weather, empty courses, fabulous food – what’s not to like about golf in Morocco? The country is blessed with excellent golf courses. The greens are beautifully manicured and a round takes four hours on a busy day. Unlike Spain and Portugal, it won’t cost you an arm and a leg, either. Green fees are as little as £19; a good caddie costs around £6. Just three hours from London, with world-class courses and around 300 days of sunshine a year, Morocco is tipped to be the next big golfing destination.

With Marrakech at the heart of the Morocco golfing scene and offering 12 superb courses within 30 minutes of each other it is easy to understand why European golfers are flocking to the sunshine of Marrakech. Only 2 to 3 hours flight form most of Europe, Marrakech golf holidays are excellent value and we are able to make sure that you not only get great golfing but we also add much more value to your trip with our super extensive knowledge of other things to do whilst in the area.

Unlike most golf companies we can tailor make itineraries which can take you around Morocco's best courses (not only Marrakech but Rabat, El Jadida, Essaouira, Agadir, Fes and more). Don't compromise on a golfing holiday which only offers you golf. We can tie in treks, surfing, cultural trips, culinary classes, nightlife and much more.

On top of taking you further than the golf course, we can offer you a unique blend of hotel stays and villa rentals. For example, you may want to be in a lovely villa on a golf course for the first 5 nights and then head up into the Atlas mountains staying in charming boutique hotels or retreats and then head to the Atlantic coast to stay in a riad in Essaouira. We can drive you through the Sahara desert, camping under canvas, star gazing and riding camels.

Surfing sport in Morocco

Surfing Sport in Morocco

Morocco is one of the best places in Africa to surf.

The stunning Atlantic coastline and empty beaches provide perfect conditions for professionals and beginners alike. There are several surf spots, such as Oualidia and Taghazoute, where surfing is possible year-round. With its shallow lagoon and gentle waves Oualidia is the perfect place to learn. Surfland – set up in Oualidia in the late 1980s – are ideal instructors. Children can stay in a well-equipped, safe, supervised camp. If you prefer, you can stay in the Hotel Hippocampe or La Sultana Hotel while your children attend a half or full day’s course. Wind-surfing and other beach sports are possible in many locations along the Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts.

Taghazout offers all kinds of waves, from gentle beginner waves to heavy reef breaks for more advanced surfers. The best swells hit the region between November and March. Taghazout has some of the most perfect right-hand pointbreaks you will ever surf. The area has a wide variety of spots that can suit any surfing ability.

The best swells and winds are from mid-September to mid-April. During the rest of the year, strong NW winds are blowing in most spots. However, it can still be a great time for a visit for beginners or surfers looking to dodge the crowds.
